I AM CHURCH History
In 2004, God gave Pastor Jeffrey Akers a vision to start an internet church. Together with Brother
Darrell Brown they worked diligently researching and sorting out the technical difficulties of internet
communication. Pastor Akers shared his vision with his pastor, Suffragan Bishop Craig S. High of
Greater St. James Temple (The Place of Possibilities). Bishop High gave his support and blessing.
After receiving his pastor's prayers and blessing, Pastor Akers purchased hosting and domains for
IAC World Ministries and built the virtual site for the internet church.
With the help of his ministry colleague and friend, Apostle Eddie Earle, Pastor Akers filed for
corporation status on March 8 th , 2005, making IAC World Ministries the first Internet church in the
State of South Carolina. This joyous occasion meant that apostolic barriers could be broken for many
countries as the gospel of Jesus Christ was preached through the internet.
Visitors from Pakistan, Canada, and the United States attended the first IAC Internet Church service.
Prayer was led by Brother Darrell Brown and Pastor Akers preached the gospel message.
After prayer, many confirmations, and building an addition to Bright Minds Learning Center in
Jamaica, Pastor Akers decided to expand the Internet church to include a physical location. God
spoke to him and instructed him to start the church in Greenville, South Carolina. He and Deacon
Darrell Brown began looking for a building to have worship services and a headquarters office for
the ministry. October 14th, 2014, IAC World Ministries signed the lease and started I Am Church at 3
Jervey Ave, Greenville, South Carolina. I Am Church conducted its first prayer service Sunday
November 23rd, 2014, and its' first worship service Sunday, December 15, 2014.
God blessed the ministry, and I Am Church moved from 3 Jervey Avenue, Greenville, South Carolina
to 1427 Laurens Road, Suite E, Greenville, South Carolina in 2018. The church continues to preach
the gospel of Jesus Christ and serve the community with the mission to teach, inspire, empower and
love. I Am Church has twelve support ministries, four international missions’ efforts, a public charity
called I am Changed, Inc., a partnership with Pleasant Valley Connection Community Center, and
sponsors many nonprofit efforts in the Upstate South Carolina, Ohio, and Indiana.
